According to UFC's announcement, Featherweight champion Max Holloway will defend his title against Alexander Volkanovski in December in Las Vegas.

After failing in the lightweight interim championship match against Dustin Poirier at the UFC 236 event, Max Holloway returned to his featherweight weight class and defended the title belt against Frankie Edgar at the UFC 240 event. This is the third time. Max Hollway defended the title successfully after winning Jose Aldo and officially became the Featherweight champion at UFC 212.

Regarding Holloway's opponent, Alexander Volkanovski is a boxer from Russia and has a record of 20 victories and 1 loss. Currently, Volkanovski is holding a series of 17 consecutive matches. Volkanovski took the opportunity to face Holloway after the Russian boxer won the former Featherweight champion Jose Aldo at the UFC 237 event.

Volkanovski now has 7 wins at UFC. He first competed at UFC in 2016 against Japanese rival Yusuke Kasuya at the UFC Fight Night event: Whittaker vs Brunson.
