After losing the 2019 Wimbledon championship to Djokovic's hand, the 37-year-old Roger Federer said he would miss the Masters in Montreal next month.

Before the US Open in New York late August, two Masters tournaments will be held in Montreal and Cincinnati.

During a press conference after the 2019 Wimbledon final, Roger Federer announced he would skip Montreal but head to Cincinnati, where he was defeated by Djokovic in the final of last season. That championship helped Novak Djokovic become the first person in history to complete a collection of nine different Masters titles.
