Novak Djokovic overcame a shoulder injury to triumph in the US Open 2019's third round

The No. 1 seed Novak Djokovic struggled a lot in set 2 before winning the final 6-4, 7-6 (3), 6-1 against Juan Ignacio Londero.

That victory brought Novak Djokovic to the 71st milestone victory at Flushing Meadows, equal to that of Pete Sampras.

Facing the dangerous forehead of the 56th ranked opponent in the world, the Serbian tennis player had many difficulties, especially he suffered a shoulder injury at the end of the first set and required medical attention.

Londero pulled the No. 1 seed to the tie-break series in set 2 but ultimately could not make a surprise. The 26-year-old played in the final set and lost quite quickly.

Djokovic advanced to the third round and will meet Denis Kudla of the US host or seed number 27th Dusan Lajovic.
