Naomi Osaka defeat Anna Blinkova in the first round of the US Open 2019

The defending champion Naomi Osaka defeated the world's 84th ranking rival Anna Blinkova 6-4, 6-7, 6-2, yesterday August 28th.

In a post-match interview, Naomi Osaka acknowledged his fear of failure at various points during the two-and-a-half hour long match in the first round. The world's number one player soon lost 0-3 in the first set, then failed to take advantage of match-points and lost in the second set. Osaka returned in the final set, winning two games to block the ball and not giving Russian opponents a chance to win backwards.
