Nick Kyrgios ready to conquer the 2020 Australian Open

The Australian tennis player believed that he would play better thanks to the support of the home audience.

2019 season was a successful year in Nick Kyrgios' career. He won two ATP 500 titles at Mexican Open and Washington Open by beating Alexander Zverev and Daniil Medvedev in the final matches, respectively.

However, the terrible results at Grand Slam tournaments made him slip at the ATP ranking, standing at the 30th place at the moment. Last year, he was even eliminated at the first round of Australian Open, beaten by the 16th seed Milos Raonic in a three-set match.

Nevertheless, Kyrgios believed that things would change in the 2020 season. Last year, although he was sidelined at many competitions due to suffering from injuries, he managed to play well against top players.

Consequently, after fully recovering, Kyrgios said he was ready to conquer the 2020 Australian Open. Even though the best result of Kygios at Australian Open events was to advance to quarter-finals in 2015, he was confident to do something special in 2020.

"My biggest advantage at the Australian Open is to play with the support of the home audience", said Kyrgios. "As a result, I think I can achieve a new milestone in my career at this competition".

Agreeing with Kyrgios, Rafael Nadal says that a young tennis player will win a Grand Slam title in 2020.
