Many top seeds were eliminated at the fifth day of the 2020 Australian Open, even Roger Federer found it very hard to advance to the next round.

On the morning of the fifth day of the 2020 Australian Open, the Chinese tennis player Wang Qiang surprised the audience by beating the former champion, Serena Williams.

On the fifth day, while Novak Djokovic easily won against the Japanese player Yoshihito Nishioka in straight sets, Roger Federer found it hard to beat the Australian man John Millman, taking more than 4 hours. It is also his 100th victory at the Australian Open events, helping Federer create another record at the Grand Slam tournaments.
