Roger Federer entered the 3rd round at the 2019 Cincinnati Masters

The match was interrupted by rain, but Swiss tennis player Roger Federer still eased Juan Ignacio Londero 6-3, 6-4 on August 13th.

Federer only took 40 minutes to benefit 6-3, 2-2 before the rain hit, causing the game to be suspended.

In the first match since losing to Djokovic in the Wimbledon finals in 2019, "Express Train" joined quickly and took advantage of a double fault of Londero to win the game to save the match. Completely overpowering the opponent with a direct delivery, Federer easily closed the first set with seven ace and lost five points after only 22 minutes of playing.

When I first debuted in Cincinnati, the player was ranked 55th in the world to play hard. After being handed the ball in the first set, Londero managed to preserve his next five games, before the two had to go to the rain changing room.

Back on the pitch, Federer missed the first break-point, but to a second chance, after a double fault of the opponent, the third seed broke the ball to pass the 3-2 lead. In the next game, Federer faced the first break-point after a failed backhand, but he promptly saved the match with a winner to maintain the superiority.

After the first chance of a match-point was unsuccessful, Federer scored successively the two winner points ending the match to win the ticket to the third round. Since 2005, the Swiss player has never failed in his first game in Cincinnati and has played in the finals for the last three seasons.

During the match, Roger Federer scored 26 winner points and had 19 self-defeating errors, while Londero's similar statistics were 10 points and 13 errors. Completing the 47th victory in Cincinnati, "Express Train" awaits the winner of the match between Andrey Rublev and Swiss compatriot Stan Wawrinka in the upcoming match.
