Nikoloz Basilashvili won the Hamburg Open title for the 2nd year in a row

Defeated Andrey Rublev 7-5, 4-6, 6-3, Georgian player Nikoloz Basilashvili successfully defended the ATP 500 championship on clay in Hamburg.

Last season, Nikoloz Basilashvili won the qualification from the 81st world but was crowned champion.

Back in Hamburg Open this year, the Georgia player continued to maintain a consistent form to win the title for the second time in a row. Basilashvili scored a hand-won winner 26 points before completing his 12th victory here, including 10 matches in the main round.

It was also the third ATP title in his career, after his last in the China Open last year, where Nikoloz Basilashvili defeated Del Potro in the final. This achievement led him to become the first person to successfully defend the championship in Hamburg after Roger Federer in 2005.

Rublev quickly entered and broke the opponent's ball in the third game to take the lead. But in the next 3 games, Basilashvili re-established the order with durable balls, before winning the first set after 55 minutes.

Once again, Rublev rose in the second set when he broke the first game and finally won this set when making good use of the opponent's forehand errors.
