Following Djokovic's victory, Serbia advance to the ATP Cup semi-finals

Although losing the first set against Denis Shapovalov, Novak Djokovic managed to defeat his opponent in the game by winning both the remaining ones.

After beating South Africa, France, and Chile teams at the group stage, the Serbia team advanced to the quarter-finals to play against Canada. Compared to the opponent, Serbia is a stronger team, and they proved that by defeating Canada at all games.

Serbia started well in the first match when Dusan Lajovic gained a victory in the match against Felix Auger-Aliassime. He easily beat the Canadian player in straight sets (6-4, 6-2), helping his team has a great advantage before the next matches.

Following Dusan Lajovic, Novak Djokovic played against Denis Shapovalov in the second game. Shapovalov surprised the audience by winning the first set, however, he could not find any possible chances to finish the match as the winner at the remaining time.

Djokovic won both remaining sets, including a victory in tie-breaks in the last one. After that, Nikola Cacic and Victor Troicky finished an impressive performance by defeating Peter Polansky and Adil Shamasdin in the double's match.

Advancing to the semi-finals, the next opponent of Serbia will be Russia when Djokovic will play against Daniil Medvedev.

Meanwhile, Rafael Nadal disappointed his fans by losing David Goffin in the match between Belgium and Spain, making his team play the doubles' game to decide who will advance to the semi-finals.
