Federer believes in Nadal and Djokovic to beat his Grand Slam record

The greatest tennis player in history said that his Grand Slam records will be overcome by his fellow Nadal and Djokovic.

At 38, Roger Federer is still confident to compete at the 2020 Australian Open, playing against players who were born when he started his tennis career such as Stefanos Tsitsipas.

In the past, he won Australian Open six times, however, he could not defend his title last year when he was beaten by Tsitsipas in the fourth round.

After that, he also missed the chance to win Wimbledon by losing Novak Djokovic in the final match despite having 2 championship points.

In other words, it seems that Federer thinks it is the time for him to step aside, seeing younger players conquer Grand Slam titles.

Among them, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic are the men who can continue dominating the tennis world in 3 or 4 years, which helps them overcome the Grand Slam record of Federer.

Compared to Federer, who has 20 Grand Slam titles, Nadal wins 19 ones while the number of Djokovic is 16.

In terms of young players, Federer thinks that they can win Grand Slam titles in the future, however, that is when top players namely Nadal and Djokovic lose their best form.

From the perspective of Federer, players born in the 90s such as Tsitsipas, Zverez, and Dominic Thiem cannot beat the previous generation when they were in their best form.
