Rafael Nadal faces 'giant killer' in Mubadala final

The Greek tennis player Stefanos Tsitsipas impressed by defeating Nole to qualify for the final match of the 2019 Mubadala World Tennis Championship.

Before starting the semi-final, Djokovic had an advantage to not play in the quarter-finals. He showed his strength by defeating Tsitsipas in the first set by 6-3. However, that was all he could do in that match.

Since the second set, Djokovic played worse when he let Tsitsipas win by a 7-6 score. In the final set, Tsitsipas proved why he was considered one of the best young players at the moment by beating Djokovic 6-4 to advance to the final.

As a result, while Tsitsipas will play against Rafael Nadal in the final, Djokovic will join the third-place match with Karen Khachanov. The Russian player easily lost Nadal in a game that Nadal dominated.

In the case of Tsitsipas, the victory against Djokovic helped him have more confidence to aim for conquering a Grand Slam title in the 2020 season. After becoming the champion of the 2019 Finals, the Greek player still kept his good form.

On the other hand, Djokovic would not be happy with this defeat at the Mubadala World Tennis Championship that he was the current champion. At the end of 2019, his form decreased significantly that made him lost the number one position in the ATP ranking.
