ATP 500: Dominic Thiem reached the 250th victory in his career

"Clay court Prince" Dominic Thiem marked the 250th victory in his career after surpassing Pablo Cuevas 6-3, 7-6 (3) in the first round of the ATP 500 in Hamburg this week.

There were two times defeating the Uruguayan opponent this season, after the Argentina Open and Roland Garros, Dominic Thiem continued to have a third victory after 1 hour 41 minutes. No. 1 seed will face Marton Fucsovics in the next round match.

This victory helped the 25-year-old complete his 24-10 victory in the 2019 season, including the 1000 Masters in Indian Wells in March and the Barcelona Open title a month later. At Roland Garros recently, Dominic Thiem lost to Nadal in the final and had the second consecutive year winning the runner-up Grand Slam tournament.

Nikoloz Basilashvili started his championship protection in Hamburg by winning 6-4, 6-3 before Hugo Dellien after 67 minutes. The No. 4 seed contender will be Juan Ignacio Londero - the newly crowned champion of the Cordoba Open. Londero won 82% of the first serve before defeating Alejandro Davidovich Fokina 6-3, 6-2.

Elsewhere, 3rd seed Fabio Fognini easily overtook Julian Lenz after 2 sets with the same score 6-4 for a meeting with Rudolf Molleker. Meanwhile, Sumit Nagal lost quickly in the hands of the 2005 former runner-up Richard Gasquet after 90 minutes.
