Andy Murray reached the first ATP semifinal in 2 years

Former world No. 1 Andy Murray set to play the first ATP semi-final since returning to the men's singles competition in Cincinnati.

Although it was not easy, Andy Murray finally got what he wanted. Scottish player beat Marius Copil by 6-3, 6-7 (7), 6-4 to reach the semi-finals of ATP 250 in Antwerp, Belgium. This is also his first ATP semi-final since Roland Garros 2017 - where he lost to Stan Wawrinka.

Andy Murray had the chance to end the game at a 5-3 lead in set 2 but missed. Copil used double error to break the serve of the opponent, before dragging to the deciding set.

In the final set, Murray serves the ball firmly and faces no break-points. He lost 5 serves and completed his victory with the ninth ace in the match, while in Copil he got 20 aces.

In the upcoming match, Murray will meet Ugo Humbert - the young French talent came back to beat Guido Pella 5-7, 6-4, 6-4 to win the right to play the 3rd ATP semi-final of the year.

If passing Murray, Humbert (currently 778 points) will have an additional 60 points and surpass Miomir Kecmanovic to rank 7th in the race to Milan to attend the Next Gen ATP Finals 2019.

The remaining pair of semi-finals will be a confrontation between Jannik Sinner and No. 4 seed Stan Wawrinka.
