Alexander Zverev close to the ATP Finals 2019's ticket

No. 6 seed Alexander Zverev won 6-1, 6-3 in the first round match of Paris Masters against Fernando Verdasco.

That victory not only brought the ticket to the third round for Alexander Zverev, but also brought him closer to attending the ATP Finals at the end of the season.

Zverev added 90 points and increased his accumulated points in the race to London in the middle of next month to 2,945 points. If reaching the final in Paris this week, the 22-year-old will certainly be at the ATP Finals 2019 for the third year in a row.

Zverev quickly dominated when breaking two opponent's serve games and saved both face-to-face breakpoints to close the first set of victory in just 26 minutes. He still maintains the serve advantage in the next set, before the end of the match with an 87% (33/38) winning percentage.

In the upcoming match, Alexander Zverev will meet the winner in the match between Denis Shapovalov and Fabio Fognini.

Whereas, seed No. 4 Daniil Medvedev unexpectedly let Jeremy Chardy beat upstream after 3 sets of 4-6, 6-2, 6-4. The French tennis player saved 14/15 break-points in the face and successfully used 3/5 chance of breaking the serve of the Shanghai Masters 2019 champions to win.

Chardy will meet Cristian Garin or John Isner - former runner-up of the 2016 tournament, in the upcoming third-round match.
