Jorge Lorenzo was sent to hospital after an accident at MotoGP

The three-time racer world champion Jorge Lorenzo falls on the seventh bend, the first race in Assen (Netherlands).

Jorge Lorenzo's Honda RC213V missed when he got in, causing him to knock off the car. According to inertia, the Spanish racer was washed away, bouncing up into the air and smashing into the ground three times. He suffered multiple injuries and was protected by the guards from the track.

Jorge Lorenzo was taken to a local hospital on an ambulance. He was thoroughly examined, but it was unclear how serious the injury was. The 32-year-old driver is most likely unable to attend the main race on Sunday June 30.

"The strong impact caused Jorge Lorenzo to have chest and back pain,"  Honda team manager Alberto Puig said. "The problem is that he was hit in the exact same wound, when he was in Barcelona in June 18". According to Dr. Zasa, Jorge Lorenzo has a backbone and must return to Spain to meet a reputable neurosurgeon.

Jorge Lorenzo left Ducati, joined Honda for the 2019 season, replaced Dani Pedrosa - retired driver. After seven races this season, Lorenzo is in 15th place, 121 points below the leader Marc Marquez.
