The Open 2019 fixtures & schedules: Tiger Woods is confident before kick-off

Let us see the announcements of Tiger Woods - number 1 candidate for the champion of The Open 2019 - british open golf scheduled this July.

"Super Tiger" did not attend any tournament in the last four weeks.

"The sticks are still in the same place", Woods said before going to Northern Ireland to attend the last major award of the year. "As I told you, I haven't touched it yet".

The last time Tiger Woods competed was in the fourth round of the major US Open on June 16th. After the prize, "Super Tiger" went to Thailand - his mother's hometown - rested with his family.

"We had great moments there", added the 43-year-old golfer.

"We celebrated my daughter Sam's birthday, riding an elephant, hunting in the forest and visiting the island. It was a great experience. My mother's health is not as good as before, so we want to take advantage of every moment our family is together".

Woods went to Northern Ireland and practiced the first rounds at the Royal Portrush. The owner of 15 major doesn't have a really good feeling of the ball, but in return, he carefully prepares his mind and body. Two weeks before The Open, Woods got used to getting up from one o'clock in the United States, equivalent to six in the morning in Northern Ireland. "I want to be well prepared for the time zone change", Woods said at the time.

The Open is the only major place outside the United States. Woods has won three times in the world's oldest tournament in 2000, 2005 and 2006. Super Tiger, therefore, does not lack confidence before tee-off with the group with Matt Wallace and Patrick Reed on Thursday July 18th.

"Long breaks sometimes are good things, especially in golf," Woods said. "I will soon get back to feeling the blows. After a long break, I will definitely be able to train more golfers in the coming days".

The Open takes place at Royal Portrush, Northern Ireland from July 18-21. Woods will play a minimum of nine holes in the training rounds before the major end of the year.
