Ko Jin-young won the major 2019 Evian Championship

Korean Golfer Ko Jin-young earned a score of -15, thereby securing his second appearance at major in the season.

Ko Jin-young on July 28th entered the final round of a major in France with four strokes away from the top of Kim Hyo-joo. After the first half of the round, Kim still held the advantage but the heavy rain caused a reversal afterwards.

The last team returned to play the second half when the clock in Evian-les-Bains had arrived at 19:30. Kim's mistake with a triple-bogey on Hole 14 and Ko's two birdies important on Hole 15 as well as Hole 17 made the right of self-determination to Ko's hand.

Ko Jin-young achieved par on Hole 18 and had a total score of -15, crowned with a two-stroke gap and became the first golfer to win more than one major award in the same year, since Park In-bee in 2015. Kim Hyo-joo, who kept the top of the top three, ranked T2 in the same match with -13 points like Feng Shanshan and Jennifer Kupcho.

2019 is Ko Jin-young's sublimation season, with three LPGA Tour titles including two major debut championships, at ANA Inspiration and the Evian Championship. The 24-year-old Golfer is also three times second and never out of the top 30 in the tournament this season.

The championship at Evian brought Ko Jin-young 615,000 USD and the number one position in the world. Korean golfer used to stand at the top of the world score after posting ANA Inspiration in April, but quickly let Park Sung Hyun regain the number one position.

Next week, female golfers will come to England to attend the last major of the year - British Open. The major fifth prize in the season has a total prize of 4.5 million USD, of which the champion receives 675,000 USD. This is the second highest award among 2019 awards, just behind US Women’s Open.
