Joaquin Niemann holds the top of the third round in The Greenbrier 2019

Golfer Joaquin Niemann scored -15 through three rounds of The Greenbrier - the first PGA Tour event of the 2019-2020 season.

Joaquin Niemann birdie three times and bogey once in the third round. Of the three golfers sharing the top of the second round, Niemann was the only one who played yesterday, with -2. Scottie Scheffer only reached +1 in the third round and fell to T5, while Robby Shelton maintained a score of -13 to rank T2 with Nate Lashley and Richy Werenski.

Werenski was the unlucky golfer in the PGA Tour last season. 27-year-old Golfer ranked 126th on the FedEx Cup transcript, missing a level to the play-off. The golfer who once won the Korn Ferry Tour has never been so close to a PGA Tour title in his career.

But the biggest advantage is still Niemann. Holding the top of the table with a score of -15 and the distance of two sticks with the team chasing, Niemann stood the opportunity to become the first Chilean crowned at the PGA Tour. 20-year-old Golfer twice attended The Greenbrier before. Niemann ranked T29 when attending the 2018 tournament as an amateur, and ranked T5 last year.

"I feel like I'm a member of this stadium", Niemann said of The Old White TPC. "When you play on a familiar playing field, that helps a lot."

Kevin Chappell, who played 59 strokes in the second round, fell in the third round. The American Golfer hit 73 sticks (par70) yesterday and dropped from T5 to T29, eight sticks from the top of the table. Chappell, when he received a lot of attention, did not play well with four bogeys and only one birdie in the third round.
