OFFICIAL: Juventus completes the Matthijs De Ligt deal

The Serie A champions Juventus won an agreement to sign center-back Matthijs De Ligt from Ajax for a fee of £ 67.5 million.

This information has been confirmed by Sky Sports. Matthijs De Ligt will be in Turin today (July 16th) for medical examination before officially putting on Juventus.

The owner of Allianz and "super stork" Mino Raiola agreed on all personal terms for De Ligt. The defender in 1999 will receive £ 10.8 million in wages, not to mention the reward for five years of Bianconeri.

With this income, De Ligt will become the second highest paid player at Juventus, behind superstar Cristiano Ronaldo (£ 31 million per year).

De Ligt will also become the third most expensive defender in the world transfer history, behind only Virgil Van Dijk (£ 75m) and Lucas Hernandez (£ 71m).

De Ligt left the training camp from last week to complete the Juventus troop procedure. As the youngest captain in the club's history, the 20-year-old midfielder led Ajax to the Dutch national championship and reached the Champions League semi-final in 2018/19.

Dazzling performances at the field Johan Cruyff helped De Ligt fall into the sights of many big clubs, including Man Utd and Barcelona. However, the Dutch player chose Juventus, where the idol Cristiano Ronaldo is present to be the next stop in his career.

Before De Ligt, Juventus also recruited another midfielder Merih Demirus from Sassuolo.
