Nguyen Cong Phuong did not start at the first defeat of Sint-Truiden in the new season

The Vietnamese striker Nguyen Cong Phuong did not play any minutes when Sint-Truiden lost 0-1 against Excel Moeskroen at the first round of the Belgian National Championship on July 27th.

New signing Nguyen Cong Phuong is registered in the list of matches of Sint-Truiden. But coach Marc Brys did not allow him to come on the pitch, making the Vietnamese striker unable to launch Belgian fans.

Nguyen Cong Phuong added sadness to witness Sint Truiden failing at home in the game at Jupiler Pro League. On the slippery ground because of the rain, the home team controls the ball and the game is better. However, they could not organize a lot of enemy threats when stumbling into dense defenses.

Excel Moeskroen play defense, effective counter-attack, creating a number of favorable opportunities. After Allagui hit the post in the 16th minute, 38 minutes later the visitors opened the scoring from Olinga's beautiful free-kick.

In the second half, Sint-Truiden went on to attack continuously. The home side created some chances but the finishing touches of Endo, Acolatse, Botake lacked a bit of precision.

This is the first time in three years, Sint-Truiden lost to Excel Moeskroen at home. The next round continued to promise many difficulties for Nguyen Cong Phuong's team when they had to encounter runner-up club Brugge (on August 2nd).
