Vietnam team set to play against Iraq in March

To prepare for the 2022 World Cup qualification round, Vietnam national football team will play an exhibition match against Iraq.

At the end of the March, Vietnam national football team will play a match against Malaysia at the second preliminary round of the World Cup qualifier.

That game is of great importance to decide the place of Vietnam team in Group G, which is leading the table with 11 points in 5 matches that helps them advance to the final qualification round.

Consequently, the Vietnam team wants to have a good preparation ahead of that match, which makes them decide to play an exhibition match against Iraq in March.

The Middle-East side has similarities with UAE, in other words, Iraq will be a good team for Vietnam to test new strategies before they face UAE in June.

Last year, Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) released an announcement, confirming that they were aiming for qualifying for the 2026 World Cup.

To do that, the Vietnam national football team should have a good result at the qualification round in 2019 with current players. After facing Malaysia, the Vietnam team will have other two tough games against Indonesia and UAE in June.

The last match is a real battle for coach Park Hang Seo and his players when they will play as the away team in UAE.
