Waiting for La Liga clubs, Nguyen Quang Hai misses the chance to become Chanathip's teammate

Vietnamese midfielder Nguyen Quang Hai was invited to play for J-League club Consadole Sapporo. However, he rejected it to stay with Hanoi Football Club.

Nguyen Quang Hai is considered the best player of Vietnamese football at the moment, after his performance at both clubs and the international level. As a result, he became the target of many Asian big clubs, including Consadole Sapporo.

Recently, they offered him to play in the 2020 J1 League, which would make him the first Vietnamese player competing in the highest league of Japanese football.

Moreover, he would have a chance to play alongside "Messi of Thailand" Chanathip Songkrasin, who was voted in the J1 League Best XI in 2018.

After hearing the offer from Consadole Sapporo, Hanoi Football Club said that Nguyen Quang Hai had the right to choose the next destination himself. They respected him as well as wanted him to have the best possible environment to improve his strength.

However, Nguyen Quang Hai rejected the bid from the Japanese club. Although he really wanted to play abroad in the future, he thought that it was not the time for him.

Instead of playing football in Thailand or Japan, Nguyen Quang Hai wanted to stay with Hanoi Football Club.

It seemed that Nguyen Quang Hai had another reason to reject Consadole Sapporo's offer because he aimed to play football in Europe, not Asia. He still waited for the chance to join a European club like his fellow countryman Doan Van Hau and Nguyen Cong Phuong did before.
