The disappointments from this matchday were the champion and the runner-up last season. Chiangrai United has been playing like they have not started their season. After the loss at the AFC Champions League against Melbourne Victory, they returned to the Samut Prakan City's home ground, and can only grab a point from the less quality opponent.

Buriram United was even worse. They lost to the newly-promoted Police Tero at the opponent's turf, with the only goal from N.Chansawek in a match that they were dominant with 18 shots compared to 9 from the host.
