What is Singapore U22's aim in the last 2 matches against Brunei & Vietnam?

After losing to Thailand, coach Fandi Ahmad said that he and his players will do better in the next matches to gain points in SEA Games 30th.

"I am very proud of the performance of the players against Thailand. They have played their best. Congratulations and hope Thailand will have good luck. And we will quickly return because there are 2 matches left against Brunei and Vietnam", said coach Fandi Ahmad after the defeat to U22 Thailand.

"I hope Singapore U22 will score and win these two matches".

Yesterday, Singapore U22 confronted the Golden Temple team in the 3rd match of Group B men's football SEA Games 30th. The players of coach Fandi Ahmad completely lost with the score 0-3

The Singapore Football Federation home page quoted coach Fandi Ahmad: "This is a very difficult game for us, but the whole team has come up and created many opportunities even though Thailand is a stronger team. They have so many good players who can decide the game. They also put a lot of pressure".

"Thailand is a strong team, but we should have been able to score two goals thanks to a free-kick and a header. Anyway, this is football, so we are not allowed to give up as the immediate future is still there. There are 2 matches left. My students are warriors. It is important that they believe in themselves and we will try to improve in the next matches".

After the aforementioned failure, Singapore U22 has just won 1 point after 3 matches and almost eliminated from the group stage. In the next match, Singapore U22 will meet Vietnam U22.

As for Thailand U22, the victory over Singapore U22 helped them get 6 points, below the top spot Vietnam. Akira Nishino's team must win two remaining matches against Laos U22 & Vietnam U22 by heavy scores to keep their hope alive.
