'We will score more than three goals against Cambodia U22'

Speaking before the last match in Group A of 30th SEA Games' men's football, striker Htet Phyo Wai promised he and his teammates would try to score more goals than they did in the game against Timore Leste U22.

Leading Group A after three matches, Myanmar U22 has a great chance to advance to semi-finals. However, from the players' point of view, their forms are not good enough to aim for the gold medal.

Only by improving the performance after each game can they beat strong opponents such as Vietnam U22 or Thailand U22.

Htet Phyo Wai said at the moment, problems appeared in every position of the team, so they should fix them as soon as possible at SEA Games.

"Playing against Cambodia U22 is our final match in the group stage. As a result, the only task for us is to score many goals while not being conceded. In the previous fixture, we did not play well as we just won by 3-1".

"That poor performance cannot happen again, so far we need to score more than three goals against Cambodia U22. A great victory is necessary for us to conquer the gold medal. We know it is very hard but we will try our best", said Htet Phyo Wai.

Agreeing with him, captain Hlaing Bo Bo said the leading position proved Myanmar U22's quality, but they can play better in the following matches.

Qualifying for the semi-finals is not too hard as they did many times before, but they need to fight with the true form at the knock-out stage.
