Laos U22 in long-week training in Qatar before SEA Games

Under the management of head coach Varadaraju Sundramoorthy, Laos U22 has been preparing carefully with a trip to Qatar before the men's football tournament at the SEA Games 30 kicks off.

In the next 2 weeks, SEA Games 30 will be started in the Philippines. Laos U22 team is drawn into Group B with Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Singapore, and Brunei. Although the possibility for Laos U22 to stand in the first or the second place is very low, it is still the goal they aim to achieve. To make the hope come true, head coach Sundramoorthy and his players scheduled to train in Qatar for one week. Moreover, he called up 4 players from the Laos U19 team. These are men who help Laos U19 qualify 2020 AFC U19 Championship a few days ago.

Besides that, Laos U22 can sign up 2 players aged more than 22, hence they will choose from 3 men namely Thipphachanh Inthavong, Phittack Kongmathilath, and Soukaphone Vongchiengkham. Among those names, the most impressive player is Vongchiengkham who is often considered as "Messi of Laos". He played regularly for the senior team in the 2018 AFF Cup Championship, thus it can be the best option for coach Sundramoorthy to improve their attacking quality.

In Group B, Laos U22's matches and other opponents were scheduled harshly. They only have 2 to 3 days to rest between the games.

However, Laos Football Federation has a faith in their players called the new generation. That is why they invested relatively much in the training course in Qatar because it can motivate Laos U22 players to play better. At SEA Games, they will play against Singapore in the first match starting at 8 pm on November 26th.
