Theerathon scored on the day becoming a part of Japanese football history! But WHERE IS CONG PHUONG NOW?

On the last match of 2019 JLeague 1, Theerathon Bunmathan scored the opening goal to help Yokohama F Marinos conquer the league.

Before the match between Yokohama F Marinos and FC Tokyo, the task for Theerathon Bunmathan and his teammates was very easy. They would be the champion if they did not lose more than three goals.

However, the international Thai player did more than that. Not only defending solidly to prevent the opponent's attackers but also he scored a goal leading to the victory.

In the 26th minute, Theerathon kicked a powerful shot outside the penalty area to score the first goal of the match. In the remaining time, Yokohama F Marinos had the other two goals thanks to Erik and Keita Endo.

Consequently, they won over FC Tokyo by a 3-0 score to become the new king of Japanese football. In the case of Theerathon, he also became the first Southeast Asian football player achieving JLeague 1 title.

Theerathon's success in Japan is completely different from Vietnamese stars namely Nguyen Tuan Anh and Nguyen Cong Phuong.

To be specific, in 2016, "Messi of Vietnam" Cong Phuong rarely had a chance to play for the senior team of Mito HollyHock, a JLeague 2 club. At the moment, he is being forgotten at the Belgian club Sint-Truidense.

In the case of Tuan Anh, his situation at Yokohama FC was the same. Interestingly, his former club got promoted to play at JLeague 1 next year.
