Wan Kuzain is said to be a great addition to the Malaysian squad for the 30th SEA Games (taking place from November 30th to December 11th).

Malaysia Football Federation (FAM) President Hamidin Mohd Amin confirmed to Bernama news agency that talks are in progress to bring young talent Wan Kuzain to the national team shirt and U22 + 2.

Twenty-year-old defense midfielder was born in Carbondale, Illinois (USA) and has Malaysian parents. Wan Kuzain is 1m78 height, currently plays for the Sporting Kansas City club in the MLS and has been called up to the US U17 squad.

According to FAM, Wan Kuzain recently expressed his desire to play for Malaysia. “Previously, he (Wan Kuzain) did not care but recently revealed his intention to Ong Kim Swee (coach of U23 Malaysia team). Therefore, we are preparing to bring him to Malaysia to play for the national team or Malaysia U23", said the President of FAM.

In the context of SEA Games 30th is approaching, Malaysia U23 coach Ong Kim Swee emphasized that US-born player Wan Kuzain will be a great addition to the squad preparing for SEA Games 30th (starting from 30/11 to 11/12).

According to Malaysian media, FAM will certainly accelerate the completion of negotiations with Wan Kuzain to serve the national team while they are still benefiting significantly from the player's naturalization policy. This is also the reason why Kuzain can not attend the second qualifying match of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
