Review Brunei U22 - the weakest team in Group B of SEA Games 30th

At the 2019 SEA Games, Brunei U22 will be in the same group B with Thailand, Laos, Vietnam Indonesia, and Singapore.

Brunei U22's first match will start at 16:00 (GMT+8) tomorrow afternoon (November 25th), their opponent will be Vietnam U22 under the guidance of head coach Park Hang Seo.

In the history of SEA Games or AFF Cup, Brunei football has never been appreciated in the region. In fact, they are always considered the weakest team in every tournament ever participated on every level.

All the statistics have shown that: since 2011, Brunei U22 have lost 24 matches in all competitions or friendlies they participated, and have only scored 7 goals. The last time Brunei enjoyed the joy of winning was from the SEA Games in 2011, against another weak team, the Philippines.

According to the registered list of Brunei U22 competing in SEA Games 2019, more than half of players are under 20 years old. Specifically, up to 12 names on the list of 20 Brunei players registered for the 2019 SEA Games are now 17-19 years old.

A major drawback of Brunei is the quality of the players, coach Jumat brings to Manila many footballers who do not have a professional contract, or play in youth teams.

Since the 0-6 defeat to Vietnam U22 in the 2020 AFC U23 Qualifier in Hanoi in March 2019 to now, Brunei U22 has not competed again. So this team seems to play at SEA Games 30th just... for fun!
