Myanmar U22 coach is confident to defeat the SEA Games 30th champion candidate

Commenting on the results of the SEA Games 30th men's football draw, Myanmar U22 coach Velizar Popov is confident that his team will beat Malaysia in the opening match.

Myanmar will kick off their SEA Games 30th group stage campaign with a match against Malaysia U22. Judging this match, coach Velizar Popov is confident that his team will win all the 3 points.

“I respect every opponent in the group. However, our goal is beating Malaysia in the first match to keep the door open. Two uncomfortable opponents of Myanmar in the group stage of the SEA Games 30th will be Malaysia and the host of Philippines”,said coach Popov.

The Bulgarian coach believes that his team can completely achieve the set goals. The players are actively preparing not only for the SEA Games 30th group stage but also ready to go further.

The meeting with Malaysia U22 will be very important for coach Velizar Popov and his students. Winning against a direct opponent will help the Asian lions make their way to the next round. The remaining competitors are not too concerned because they own a lower level of Myanmar U22.

The match between Malaysia U22 and Myanmar U22 will also be the opening match for the men's football in the SEA Games 30th. Men's football will be played on the afternoon of November 25th at Rezal Memorial Stadium. Two days later, Myanmar U22 will face the home team Philippines U22.

In 2017, Myanmar U22 went to the semi-finals of the 29th SEA Games in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) and finished fourth overall.

According to the new draw results in the Philippines, Myanmar U22 is in the SEA Games 30th group stage with hosts Philippines U22, Malaysia U22, Cambodia U22 and East Timor U22.
