Indonesia U22 coach: 'Team can be stronger... but our problem is the military service'

After a victory against Singapore U22, manager Fandi Ahmad said his team was improving after each game. But it would have been better if some players had not left Indonesia U22 for defense force.

Currently, Indonesia U22 has 6 points after two first fixtures. They have the same point as Vietnam U22 but stand in the second position because of lower goal difference.

However, according to coach Fandi Ahmad, it is not a problem for "The Garuda Team". With impressive performances at present, they can compete for the gold medal in SEA Games.

He has the reasons to believe in it because his team defeated Thailand U22 in the first game. It was a match in which Indonesia U22 players dominated the team appraised higher than them.

Commenting about his player's form, Fandi Ahmad said he had many quick players, who were fit to play counter-attack playing style. After losing the ball, they immediately tried to regain.

However, it could have been much better if the team manager had had all the players he wanted.

Unluckily, some players served military service, so he had to swap to other choices in SEA Games. But it could not stop his team aiming to become the champion.

In the next match, Indonesia U22 will face Vietnam U22 at Rizal Memorial Stadium on December 1st. It will be a vital game deciding the leading position in Group B. On the same day, Thailand U22 will play against Singapore U22.
