Fulham young star asked the club to attend the 30th SEA Games in Philippines

Young 18-year-old footballer Benjamin Davis is keen to be in the Thailand U22 squad for the upcoming 30th SEA Games.

Young 18-year-old talent Benjamin Davis who has an English father and a Thai mother is currently playing professionally for the Fulham club. He was originally expected to be a shining star of Thailand U22 at SEA Games 30th. Earlier this month, Ben Davis was summoned after deciding to choose playing for Thailand instead of Singapore.

However, the Fulham club refused to let him go. The reason is that SEA Games 30th is not a part of the FIFA tournament system, so the English team has the right to retain its players. This can be considered a pretty big loss for Thailand U22 at the upcoming congress.

In addition, four stars Ekanit Panya, Supachok Sarachat, Supachai Jaided and Suphanat Mueanta did not participate because they must play for the War Elephant in the second round of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in November.

Ben Davis was just involved in the Fulham match at the Carabao Cup and they lost 1-0 to Southampton. On October 25th, Davis also helped Fulham U23 to beat Sunderland 4-0 in England's young championship (England Premier League 2). Thai media said Ben Davis was begging for help from coach Scott Parker (former Tottenham player) to get the board's permission to return to play at the SEA Games 30th.

The latest summon list of Thailand U22 did not include Ben Davis. However, the Fulham player still has a chance to come to the Philippines because this is not the final focus of Thailand U22.

This team will start training from October 31st to November 5th, then the players continue to meet on November 7th to practice the next round to prepare for SEA Games 30th (starting November 25th). After two rounds of concentration, coach Akira Nishino may add some faces from the Thai team and not exclude Ben Davis from the list of 23 players who officially come to the Philippines if Fulham Club changes their mind.
