FAIR PLAY: Pinoy fans cheer Timor Leste athletes to win the first medal at SEA Games

At the moment, Timos Leste is the only nation having no medals at the 30th SEA Games. As a result, many fans of the host nation are supporting them.

"Fight Timor Leste. We want you to go home with a smile and something to celebrate. Get that gold, or silver or bronze medal. We will support you. We win as one!", said a Filipino youngster.

Another Pinoy netizen said she felt hurt after seeing Timor Leste standing in the last position without a single medal. Therefore she will cheer for Southeast Asian brothers and sisters who came from a very far country to compete at SEA Games.

Since the first time participating in SEA Games in 2003, Timor Leste gained numerous achievements, including a few gold medals. However, they regularly stood in the lowest position in the medal table.

At the 29th SEA Games, Timor Leste athletes were awarded just three bronze medals in total. The root cause of this phenomenon is Timor Leste is the poorest country in Southeast Asia, and they cannot invest too much money in sports like other nations.

On the other hand, Laos athletes achieved just five bronze medals as of December 3rd. Laos and Timor Leste are two countries that did not gain any silver or gold medal at the 30th SEA Games.

But things may change in the following days when various events will be held.
