Cheating to play in SEA Games? Here are other infamous stories about the richest footballer of Brunei

"I left him on the bench before the match, but I did not know why he was still in the starting line-up. This is a situation I cannot resist", said Brunei head coach about Faiq Bolkiah, the nephew of the Sultan of Brunei in the first match against Vietnam U22.

According to the start list, Faiq Bolkiah was not named into the starting squad of the Brunei U22 team. Consequently, he did not appear with other players warming before the match.

However, when two teams kicked off the game, Faiq was included in 11 members of Brunei. The Brunei team informed nothing about their change, so it made Vietnamese's Park Hang Seo furious after ending.

"He cheated to play in starting line-up. It is unacceptable", said the Korean coach. Agreeing with him, the head manager of Brunei admitted that he did not know why Faiq could play.

He said before the competition, he promised to give Faiq the chance to play as many games as possible. In the match against Vietnam, Faiq had a light injury so he was initially left on the bench. But somehow he managed to play from the beginning.

Faiq Bolkiah is the nephew of Hassanal Bolkiah, the Sultan (King) of Brunei. He is considered the richest player in the world because of his uncle's 20 billion dollars net worth.

At 21, Faiq is currently a player on Leicester City though he still does not have any professional match. However, as a "prince" of Brunei Kingdom, he had the first game for the Brunei national football team since 2016. Moreover, he used to be chosen to become the captain when he was just 19 years old.

Nevertheless, Faiq's cheats cannot be matched to his father, Jefri Bolkiah, the Prince of Brunei. Being known as a playboy of the royal family, Jefri has married 5 times and divorced two of them.

Faiq is just one of 18 legal children of Jefri, who spends about 50 million dollars a month to buy luxury goods, especially cars.

In the past, the former Miss USA Shannon Marketic accused him to plan to force her and other women to become his wives.
