Olympics Qualifiers tie between China PR Women and Korea Republic Women postponed due to COVID-19

The first leg of the 2020 Olympic Qualifying playoffs between China PR Women and Korea Republic Women will be pushed back owing to the escalating of the coronavirus outbreak.

The tie was due to take place on March 6 at Yongin Citizens Sports Park in Yongin, Korea. However, as Korea Republic emerged as the country with the second most infected cases (over 6,000) with 40 deaths, just behind China PR, the match-up’s date was rescheduled to April 9.

The second leg will also be moved away from Chinese soil with the same cause and held at Campbelltown Sports Stadium in New South Wales, Australia.

China PR Women ended the third qualifying round with the second position in group B, just behind Australia only by the goal difference, whereas Korea Republic Women came out as the winner of group A with two perfect wins over Myanmar and Vietnam.
