Indonesia Liga 1 fixtures: Much anticipated season starts out strong

The 2020 season of Indonesia top-flight football will kick off at the end of February, and projected to end in the middle of July.

The first division of Indonesian football will kick off on February 29th, with the appearance of last season runner-up Persebaya against the newly-promoted Persik. The most successful team in Indonesia, Persija Jakarta, with the new signing Marco Motta, will start the season one day later, against Borneo FC.

The lastest to play in Week 1 will be the reigning champion Bali United, who will play at home against Persita.

The key match in Week 2 will be the encounter between Persebaya and Persija Jakarta. The match will be played on March 7th, at Persija's home ground.

The teams will play the first 3 game-weeks and then head to the international break. After Week 6, the season will take a one-week break in celebration of Ramadan. The first phase of the season will be planned to end on July 19th.

The next phase from Week 18 to Week 34 of Liga 1 will be announced later by the PSSI.
