Lee Kang In listed in top 50 most promising stars in Europe

Valencia CF had their reason to not allow Lee Kang In to play for South Korea U23 at the 2020 AFC U23 Championship. He was one of the most important players in Los Ches at the moment.

UEFA just issued the list of 50 most promising European players in 2020, including many young stars such as Manchester United's Mason Greenwood, Barcelona's Ansu Fati, and Chelsea defender Reece James.

Lee Kang In was the only Asian player included in the list, with the introduction from the UEFA: "South Korea attacking midfielder scored on his full Liga debut in September and in the same month become the youngest Korean to appear in the UEFA Champions League".

At 18, Lee Kang In has been being given more and more chances to play for the senior team of Valencia CF. After playing just three matches for the Los Ches at La Liga last year, he appeared in 8 games this season, scoring one goal.

As a result, head coach Albert Celades appraised Lee Kang In as one of the vital players in the tactical system of Valencia in the future. Playing as an attacking midfielder, he could assist his teammates, as well as score goals in certain situations.

Recently, Korea Football Association (KFA) asked Valencia to call up Lee Kang In for the 2020 AFC U23 Championship campaign. However, that demand was rejected by Los Ches, because the tournament was not included in the FIFA schedule.

Moreover, they had another reason to keep him at the club, when Valencia was competing against other strong opponents for the fourth position at La Liga league table.
