TOO WEAK? Indonesian players can normally play just 20 minutes, says Shin Tae Yong

The South Korean coach commented that the most serious problem of the Indonesia team is the physical strength condition of players.

After being appointed as the manager of the Indonesia national football team, coach Shin Tae Yong has done many things to improve the strength condition of Indonesian players.

To be specific, he asked them not to eat fried food as well as do physical training as much as they can. However, the South Korean coach thought that those lectures were not enough to enhance his players.

"They are too weak", said Shin Tae Yong. "Both the senior and the U20 team players can play normally in just 20 minutes, which is not enough to do as I want them to".

Choosing to coach the Indonesian national football team over accepting an offer from the Chinese Super League is a challenge for Shin Tae Yong, who won AFC Champions League before guiding the South Korea team to compete in the 2018 World Cup.

The South Korean manager said he wanted to follow the path of his fellow countryman Park Hang Seo, who won great achievements with the Vietnam team.

Having similar perspective with Park, Shin gave the chance to represent the national team for young players, especially the men that won the silver medal at the 30th SEA Games men's football event such as Nadeo Argawinata, Andy Setyo, Asnawi Mangkualam, Saddil Ramdani, Osvaldo Haay, and Muhammad Rafli.
