Shin Tae Yong set to leave for Indonesia to sign the deal, receiving a higher salary than Park Hang Seo

The South Korean coach confirmed that he would take a flight to Indonesia tomorrow. It seemed that he wanted to take the job as soon as possible before PSSI changed their minds.

"The Football Association of Indonesia (PSSI) and I came to reach an agreement", said Shin Tae Yong. "So far I will leave for Indonesia on December 26th".

"I consider that working with the Indonesia national football team is a new challenge in my coaching career because I can compete against many strong teams, many top-class managers". When Shin mentioned top-class managers, it meant Akira Nishino and Park Hang Seo.

While the Japanese coach impressed by helping the Thailand team improve their form in the 2022 World Cup qualification, Park was called the "South Korean magician" thanks to his great achievements with Vietnam U23 and senior teams.

Under his guidance, Vietnam became the strongest team in Southeast Asia at the moment. Interestingly, Shin Tae Yong admitted that Park's successes in recent years were one of the main reasons making him choose to work in Southeast Asia.

The truth is when PSSI contacted to Shin, Chinese club Shenzhen FC called him earlier, and the negotiation process was relatively good.

However, Shin wanted to challenge himself instead of earning money without achieving anything, so he decided to work with the Indonesia team. His salary would be about 1 million dollars a year, much higher than Park Hang Seo and Akira Nishino.
