ASEAN officially proposed to host the 2034 FIFA World Cup, including Thailand & Vietnam

Thailand will lead four other countries in Southeast Asia: Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia to race for the right to host the 2034 FIFA World Cup.

Yesterday at the 5th ASEAN Sports Ministers Meeting took place in Manila, the capital of the Philippines. In this conference, the idea of racing to become the host of the 2034 FIFA World Cup was seriously discussed, no longer as rumors in the press as the past days.

This plan will be submitted to higher-level ASEAN conferences for consideration. Accordingly, Thailand will be the host country in the campaign to host the 2034 @FIFA World Cup, they will form alliances with neighboring countries including Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia.

Interestingly among these, there are up to 4 national football teams in the 'fraternal fraternal' scene in Group G of the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.

Thai Sports and Tourism Minister Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn said the conference had reached a consensus among nations in their efforts to bring the World Cup to the 'low-lying' of Asian football by 2034, in which Thailand will be the flagship of this alliance but needs support from Vietnam, Indonesia and Malaysia.

Currently the World Cup 'cake' is still too little for Asia, which accounts for 60% of the world's population, only the largest tournament on the planet has ever reached the eastern part of the Earth (World Cup 2002 in Japan and South Korea) and the upcoming second in Qatar 2022. Not only that, football is also the king sport in populous Asian countries, including Vietnam, Thailand and Indonesia.

To host the 2034 World Cup, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore will have to compete with rivals such as China, Egypt, Zimbabwe, Nigeria and the Australia-New Zealand alliance.
