The No. 1 team in Asia, Iran has officially announced 23 players prepare for the match against Iraq in the 2022 FIFA World Cup (Asian region).

In this list of Iranian gatherings, the most unfortunate absence is Alireza Jahanbakhsh. The winger who is playing for Brighton in the Premier League has been injured and has yet to recover.

However, representatives of West Asia still have many stars playing in Europe, one of which is Sardar Azmoun. This striker is the number one striker of Zenit (Russia) with 13 goals after 26 appearances.

According to the 2022 World Cup qualifying schedule, Iran will march to Amman National Stadium in Amman, Jordan to confront Iraq on November 14th. In Group C, Iran is in third place with 6 points, while Iraq and Bahrain are sharing the top spot with 7 points.

Losing to Bahrain in the previous match not only made Iran lose the top spot in the 2022 World Cup qualifier but also made them drop 4 places to 27th in the world rankings (FIFA). However, representatives of West Asia are still No. 1 in Asia.
