Thailand squad list to face UAE: Teerasil Dangda returns to rescue Thai's attack

Recently, coach Akira Nishino has announced the list of Thailand national football team with 23 players attending the UAE match at the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifier.

A few hours ago, coach Akira Nishino has announced a list of 23 players preparing for a friendly match against Congo and 2022 World Cup FIFA qualifying (AFC) match against UAE. The most remarkable thing on this list is the return of veteran striker Teerasil Dangda.

Thailand's number one striker has just recovered from injury and played 70 minutes for Muang Thong United in a 3-2 win over Sukhothai FC last weekend. Dangda's return is what Nishino coach is looking forward to, in the context that Thailand is missing a truly classy striker. The last time Teerasil Dangda played for Thailand national team was in the 1-0 defeat to India at the last King’s Cup.

Nishino coach highly appreciated the veteran striker of Thai football: “Teerasil Dangda is one of the few Thai strikers with high level, capable of bringing back important goals. The fact that he recovered from injury is good news. I always welcome him back to the team”.

Besides, the Japanese coach called a new name called Dolah Elias - excellent defender of the FC FC club. However, the War Elephants did not have the services of left-back Tristian Do. The defender suffered a thigh injury during the match of Bangkok United last weekend and is expected to take 2-3 weeks to recover. In addition, Thailand did not have midfielder Thitipan in the squad when the player who was playing in the J1-League had not yet recovered from an injury in the match against Vietnam.

The prominent names of Thai football in recent times such as Chanathip Songkrasin, Supachok, Theerathon are still on the list. Certainly, coach Akira Nishino will still build the play around these "stars" to bring out their best.

Reportedly, the Thai team will have a friendly match with Congo before welcoming the UAE on Thammasat Stadium on October 15th. After the first 2 rounds, Thailand is temporarily leading Group G of the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers (AFC) with 4 points.
