The Thai Football Federation (FAT) has confirmed that it will choose the Thammasat stadium as a venue to welcome Park Hang-seo's team in the second round of 2022 FIFA World Cup.

According to Siam Sport, FAT has approved the plan to use the Thammasat field for the opening match against Vietnam. It is located in Rangsit in Pathum Thani province, about 40 km from Bangkok. The Thammasat Stadium has a capacity of more than 20,000 seats, meeting all conditions for organizing a FIFA match.

FAT considered using the home ground for the second qualifying round of the World Cup 2022 when Rajamangala "pan fire" had to be repaired to prepare for the 2020 AFC U23 championship. Before that, FAT had brought in new coach Akira Nishino to visit the Thammasat yard. and the Japanese captain is satisfied with the grass and material here.

Thammasat is the home of Bangkok United club, built in 1998 to serve the 13th Asian Cup. The stadium at Thammasat University is also the location chosen by FAT to host the 2020 AFC U23 championship .
