Thailand closed the squad list to face UAE, eliminating Chanathip and Thitipan because of injury

Chanathip Songkrasin, Thitipan Puangchan and Tristan Do were not included in the list of 23 Thai players preparing for the match against UAE on October 15th.

Home page of Football Association of Thailand recently published a shortened list of coach Nishino Akira of 23 names who participated in the rally in early October to prepare for the next match in the second round of the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifier (AFC).

Midfielder Chanathip Songkrasin had to leave the team after being injured at the Consadole Sapporo Club at J.League at the last minute. Meanwhile, Thitipan Puangchan has not recovered from a thigh injury in the match against Vietnam a month ago.

Right-back Tristan Do suffered a thigh injury in a match between Bangkok United and Chiangrai on September 21st. Previously, this player also had the same problem in the confrontation with Port FC in the Thai League. Trying to play the game makes the injury more serious.

All three players started the match against Vietnam. Chanathip did not leave many imprints, and Thitipan made Vietnamese fans outraged after a rough ball against Que Ngoc Hai in the second half.

The Thai squad also welcomed the return of veteran striker Teerasil Dangda in this summons. The player born in 1988 will wear Chanathip's number 10 shirt instead of the usual number 18.

Unlike previous focus, when Nishino coach only called striker Supachai Jaided, the list of 23 players this time has 4 strikers. Besides Dangda and Supachai, the Japanese strategist also called striker Chananan Pombuppha of True Bangkok United to replace Chanathip next to the 17-year-old star Suphanat Mueanta of Buriram United.

The list of Thailand does not have too much disturbance when the key players like Theerathon Bunmathan, Pansa Hemviboon, Manuel Tom Bihr... are all present. Nishino's team is currently leading Group G with 4 points after 2 matches.
