Saudi Arabian Football Federation officially appoints Herve Renard - former Moroccan coach

Asian football continues to welcome another famous coach after Lippi, Wilmots, Cupper or Bento: Herve Renard of Saudi Arabia. Thus, the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifier (AFC) will to be more dramatic.

The Saudi Arabian Football Federation has officially announced Herve Renard as the new head coach, who will lead the country's national team in 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifier for Asia. This is considered a strong move for Saudi Arabia to reach the big goal in the upcoming qualifiers.

Herve Renard has a very good record as the captain of the national teams. Most recently, Herve Renard led the Morocco team to the 2018 World Cup finals in Russia. Under the hands of the French teacher, Morocco has left a big impression when showing a disciplined and speed play in the World Cup 1 year ago.

The coach's most remarkable achievement was in the 2012-2015 period. Herve Renard is the only coach to win CAN (African National Championship) with two different teams, Zambia (2012) and Ivory Coast ( 2015). In the recently concluded CAN 2019, this strategist brought Morocco to the round of 16 and stopped ahead of Benin in the shootout.

Two weeks after resigning as head coach of Morocco, Herve Renard became the head coach of Saudi Arabia football with the aim of participating in the 2022 FIFA World Cup in  Qatar and 2023 Asian Cup: "I look forward to the encouragement for Asian football exploration journey with Saudi Arabia", said Renard.

In the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifier in Asia, Saudi Arabia is in Group D with Yemen, Uzbekistan, Palestine and Singapore. Saudi Arabia will start their qualifying campaign against Yemen on September 10th.
