Fear of coronavirus, Iraq urge AFC to rend Vietnam national stadium at World Cup 2022 qualifying

Concerned about the coronavirus, the Iraq Football Association proposed the AFC to bring the match between Hong Kong vs Iraq on March 31st to be held at My Dinh Stadium of Vietnam.

Recently, the Vietnam Football Federation and the Iraq Football Association have reached an agreement for the two national teams to play a friendly match in the FIFA Day on March 26th. This friendly match helped both Vietnam and Iraq teams to review their forces and tactics ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifying Round on March 31st.

According to Livesportasia sources, the Iraq Football Association has also asked the AFC to bring the match between Hong Kong vs Iraq out of Chinese territory and held at My Dinh Stadium in Vietnam. The reason given by the IFA is because of the current complicated coronavirus outbreak in Wuhan, China.

According to the World Health Organization data up to present, Hong Kong is the second-most populous region with coronavirus infection in the world with 15 cases, behind China (9699 cases). This is the reason why the Iraq Football Association is very worried as their team is about to play in the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifier match in Hong Kong.

The IFA wants to organize the match between Hong Kong and Iraq in My Dinh stadium, causing Park Hang Seo's proposal to play the friendly match in Binh Duong has not been approved. Accordingly, VFF is still considering three stadiums: Thong Nhat, My Dinh and Go Dau.

The Korean strategist assesses the weather in Binh Duong in March 2020 has many similarities with Malaysia. Mr. Park Hang Seo wants Vietnam to have conditions to get used to the climate, before going to Kuala Lumpur to face Malaysia on March 31st.
