Confronting UAE & Vietnam, Indonesia officially changes nearly half of the squad

Coach Simon McMenemy has just announced the list of summons Indonesia to prepare for 2 matches against UAE and Vietnam in the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

After criticism from 2 games 1-2 loss against Malaysia and 0-3 against Thailand, coach Simon McMenemy made tough moves before the two games against UAE and Vietnam in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers.

He has crossed out 11 names and kept only 13 names from his previous focus. In addition, the Scottish tactician called 12 recruits. Notably, coach McMenemy eliminated two goalkeepers Muhammad Ridho, Wawan Hendrawan and retained a unique name Andritany Ardhiyasa.

After two defeats against Malaysia and Thailand, Indonesia was ranked in the last position of Group G. This result made their fans quite angry. They even demanded the dismissal of coach Simon McMenemy. However, the 41-year-old tactician is still in position and receives confidence from the Indonesian Football Federation.

Indonesia will face UAE and Vietnam in the next 2 matches in Group G of the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying round in Asia. Coach Simon McMenemy's team will make a trip to the UAE on October 10th. Afterwards, the match between Indonesia vs Vietnam takes place at 20:30 (GMT+8) on October 15th.
