Another scandal of Chinese football: Club owes player's salary, coaches drunk at the games

Mandy, the wife of former Chinese international player Lu Zheng revealed dark stories about clubs playing in lower leagues in China.

After 14 years playing for Chinese Super League clubs namely Shandong Luneng and Shanghai Shenhua, midfielder Lu Zheng joined the China League One team Beijing Sport University.

As the club introduced, their current majority shareholder was the conglomerate Beijing Enterprises Holdings Limited, and they had no financial problems.

Two years ago, they impressed their supporters by signing former Everton and Sunderland striker Victor Anichebe as a free agent. Currently, they also had three foreign players in the squad namely Lins, Gerard Gohou, and Juan Luis Anangono.

However, the wife of midfielder Lu Zheng has just told another story about the Beijing Sport University club. She revealed that they owed players five months of salary without paying, and they said nothing about solving that problem.

The club's officials were also changing when they find many possible methods to deduct the player's salary. Moreover, the coaching staff was a mess.

Lu Zheng's wife reveals that they repeatedly disturb players by asking them to drink alcohol with managerial members, which was originally banned by club discipline. They were also drunk all the time, even when club trained or played official matches.

On the other hand, Beijing Sport University responded nothing about Mandy's comments. It seemed that they needed to have more time to arrange before speaking about the current situation of the team to prepare for the new season at China League One.
