Malaysia U15 surpassed host China, Iran and Korea to be crowned at the CFA 2019 International Championship

Malaysia U15 team became the champion of the China CFA 2019 International Youth Football Tournament at Haikou after exceeding the host China, Iran and Korea.

Malaysia U15, led by coach P Maniam, started the four-team tournament with Asia's big 2-0 win over Iran at the Haikou RAW Stadium on July 18th when Aliff Izwan Yuslan and Daniel Edzuan Anuar scored in the 65th and 85th minute for Harimau Malaya's youth team.

The Southeast Asian team then had to divide the score with the Chinese host in a tight battle on July 20th. The match ended with a 1-1 draw, where Nabil Qayyum Zainuddin scored a equalizer for Malaysia at the end of the game after they were led by Yasser Sarifuddin in the 24th minute.

The final match saw Malaysia, with 4 points, facing Korea. A victory against the East Asian team, the team with 6 points before entering the match, will ensure them the championship.

Aliff Izwan Yuslan put Malaysia ahead in the 20th minute before Nabil Qayyum Zainuddin doubled their advantage in the 57th minute. Yom Chol-gyong scored for North Korea from a penalty in the second half of the second half. But that goal is too late and not enough for East Asia.

North Korea won the runner-up position with 6 points after three matches. Chinese host, with only 1 point, will now face Iran to decide the third and fourth place of the youth tournament.
