Commenting on the guest teams, Deputy General Secretary of the Selangor Club - Mr. Johan Kamal Hamidon said: "We want to invite the Hanoi club because it's undeniable, they are the best team in Vietnam. When making a list of guest teams, we used to want to send an invitation to Buriram United (Thailand).

Unfortunately, they lost the Thai League 1 title in the final round and will have to play in the preliminary round of the AFC Champions League 2020, so they cannot attend the tournament. So we chose Bangkok United, the team that finished third in Thai League 1.

Persib Bandung does not win the Indonesian league, but it is a team with a long history and characteristics similar to host Selangor. Besides, we also know that they even have supportive fan clubs in Malaysia".
